A Little About Us

Sergeants was founded by Don Meyer (aka. Sarge) a 17 year Army Veteran. After leaving the Army, Staff Sergeant (SSG) Meyer found it difficult to find a job in the "civilian" world. Transitioning to a “civilian” was not easy. SSG Meyer had strong desire to continue to serve his fellow Americans and knowing his mission was to provide for his family, he chose to employ his skills as a carpenter. God and family gave him the, perseverance, dedication and commitment. With quality and excellence, Sergeants continues to make it's mark in the community. Staying true to our roots, Sergeants assists fellow Veterans in transitioning to the “civilian” world. By hiring Veterans, we can train them to learn a new skillset to become successful in the “civilian” world. We have loved every minute of our journey, and look forward to making your vision our next mission.

Military

SSG Donald Meyer distinguished himself by exceptional superior service as the Battalion S-3 from September 2011 to September 2012. The outstanding skill, leadership, and careless efforts of SSG Meyer resulted in major contributions to the effectiveness and success of multiple battalion ran programs ine. His dedication to duty, commitment to excellence and work ethic were unquestionable. His actions gave every senior leader in his chain of command the freedom to shoot, move, communicate, engage and plan to meet operational standards. In meeting the challenges of attrition in the Army National Guard, SSG Meyer was a direct result in recruiting over 40 Soldiers and he was able to retain 75% of eligible Soldiers while assign as the Headquarters retention NCO.

As one of Alpha Company 237th Senior Enlisted, SSG Meyer in his last year provided mentorship and leadership to over 100 Soldiers as Platoon Sergeant. SSG Meyer supervised the implication of the drivers training program, resulting in 64 Soldiers receiving licensing on all vehicles. Under his mentorship, he skillfully groomed the next generation of leaders, which resulted in the Soldier and NCO Warrior of the Year competitions for the Battalion in 2013.

For over 17 years of meritorious service to the United States Army and the Ohio Army National Guard. Throughout his military career, Staff Sergeant Meyer has served with honor and distinction in numerous positions, from those associated with his primary MOS as a Motor Transport Operator to his career as a Platoon Sergeant. His unwavering dedication to duty and unparalleled professionalism has consistently earned the respect of subordinates, peers, and superiors alike. An innovative and relentless troubleshooter, his vast technical knowledge greatly aided in the company's success while deployed, with little material support, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom 08. His experience, gained from serving in a multitude of positions has proved invaluable as he mentored junior Soldiers and platoon leadership on a wide spectrum of theater and garrison topics, increasing their readiness for deployment and ultimately, unit effectiveness. His long and illustrious career has been marked by humanity and service and reflects great credit upon himself, the Ohio Army National Guard, and the United States Army.
